It could be losing weight, saving money, business goals, or personal goals. Setting goals in your bullet journal and then tracking your progress on those goals is the fastest way to make sure you reach all of your goals.
Making A Plan For Reaching Goals In Your Bullet Journal
We all like to set big great goals, of course it never fails that we can set a goal and never reach it. Nine times out of ten the reason why we fail to reach our goals is because we never created an actual plan.
Now that you have a bullet journal you can actually plan out your goals and more easily reach them. When you know what you need to do every single day to reach a goal and it’s staring you right in the face, you are more likely to get it done.
Before we get started, here is a list of my recommended supplies.
Recommended ProductsFrom time to time the Scribbles that Matter Journal is sold out on Amazon. When this happens third party sellers will try to sell the journal for an insane amount of money. DO NOT BUY THAT! Scribbles that Matter should be back in stock soon. My second favorite journal is the Essentials Dot Matrix, though I warn you the pages on this one are thinner and bleeding and shadows show up on opposite sides. However, it's a decent cheap journal if you are in a pinch and just want to get started.

How To Reach Goals With Collections
Let’s set some example goals and I can show you how to set up your bullet journal to reach those goals.
- Lose 20 lbs
- Read 24 Books This Year
- Save $3,000
First, we are going to decide what collections and trackers we need to have in order to help use reach these goals.
Lose Weight Goal Tracker
For this goal we are going to have 1 collection and 2 trackers. The collection will be healthy snacks you are allowing yourself to eat. Tracker 1 will be an exercise tracker. Tracker 2 will track what you have eaten and how many calories you consume each day.
By setting a good healthy collection and tracking your exercise and diet you can more easily identify where you need to apply yourself more in your health goals. Finally when you have to be accountable for yourself it becomes easier to stay on track.
Read Books Goals Tracker
Here you just need a two page tracker set up. One page will track the books you have already read, and the other page will keep track of books you want to read. This will help you to stay on track with your reading goals because you will always know what you want to read.
Save Money Goal Tracker
In this case we might use one collection and one tracker. The collection can be a no spend activity guide, showing you fun activities to do when you don’t want to spend any money. The tracker will be a simple one, that you color in as you have reached milestones in your savings goals.
You see how in setting and planning for our goals you can create a plan that will push you to reach your goals.
Bullet Journal Goals Trackers
A goals spread can be a full page or two or you can add small areas to your weekly, daily, or monthly spreads to remind you of your goals at that time. Your goals should work with your collections and trackers. It all boils down to personal preference on where and how you design your goals page.

In order to reach goals you need to take steps daily to reach those goals. In your weekly or daily planners you need to make sure you add the tasks you need to accomplish that will help you reach your goals.
For a goal in reading every single day I use a habit tracker that gets marked as complete every single day. This keeps me on track to make sure I read 2 books a month.
For business related goals I track what I need to accomplish on my to do list every single day. Then every morning I check my lists and work on what needs to be done. This keeps me on track for doing everything that needs to be done in a day.
It’s all about making sure you create a plan and then stick to that plan everyday so that you can reach those goals. Set your goals, plan out how to achieve those goals, follow the plan. Additionally, the plan is allowed to change, the goals are not. You change the plan not the goal.
