It’s halfway through January and you might be feeling the New Year’s motivation slump. It’s only natural by the third week of a new year to start slacking a bit on your new healthy resolutions. I have a great solution for you bullet journal lovers. Try to bullet journal health tracking.
I’m sharing 11 of the most creative and fun health trackers I found on Instagram. While I personally have not even started my fitness regimen I am finally feeling up to the challenge as well as gaining some free time.
About 6 years ago I practiced Yoga and Pilates. I was in the best shape I had ever been in and had a lot of energy. After having a child, working a labor intensive job, and starting a business my fitness regimen went into the garbage, right next to all those dirty diapers.
Now that I have transitioned into a work at home mom with a flexible and easier schedule I have been putting more thought into exercise and health. Of course I know I need to keep myself on track when I start the new routine.
Before we get started here is a list of my recommended supplies.
Recommended ProductsFrom time to time the Scribbles that Matter Journal is sold out on Amazon. When this happens third party sellers will try to sell the journal for an insane amount of money. DO NOT BUY THAT! Scribbles that Matter should be back in stock soon. My second favorite journal is the Essentials Dot Matrix, though I warn you the pages on this one are thinner and bleeding and shadows show up on opposite sides. However, it's a decent cheap journal if you are in a pinch and just want to get started.

My Get Healthy Routine
I have a fairly healthy relationship with food. Food is fuel for the body so I use it as such. I eat to fuel my body and give me energy. So when it comes to diet I don’t really stick to one. I choose healthy items like veggies and fruits. I do like to make sure I eat plenty of protein daily.
I also don’t deprive myself of sweets. If I want cake, cookies, or ice cream. I eat some. While diet is absolutely something that works for some people, it’s never worked well for me and always leaves me feeling like I’m starving. Maybe it’s just a lack of discipline.
For exercise I have always preferred yoga or pilates. This doesn’t have to require classes or fancy gym memberships. I simply log into YouTube and cast it to my chromecast on the TV.
The two people I like the best are Yoga with Adriene and The Balanced Life Pilates with Robin Long. They have challenges and routines starting from beginner all the way to expert moves. Additionally, because it’s on YouTube it’s free to watch, making it a fantastic way to keep your health goals low cost.
I plan to exercise daily for the next 30 days to help create the habit of being active daily. After the initial 30 days of mostly beginner yoga or pilates routines I will move on to more intermediate and eventually advanced routines 3 times a week.
Using Your Bullet Journal for Health Tracking
I decided to start using bullet journal health tracking to keep me on track. There are a few things you should know about tracking your health via your bullet journal.
To stay on track you need to make sure you are looking at your health tracker and filling it in daily. For the first 30 days make it a part of your daily to do list.
Set goals and steps to achieving those goals. By laying out a path to success you are more likely to stick to your goals. I talk more about setting goals and achieving them in my post How To Set Achievable Goals.
Finally, set rewards for when you reach smaller milestones along the way. This helps to program your mind to believe you get something great when you work hard.
Remember, if you are starting any type of new fitness or diet plan check with your doctor to make sure it is safe for your health needs.
